222 Lapua neck thickness

Anyone have a blue box 222 lapua that can measure the neck thickness. I am shooting a .250 neck and do not want to buy any and have it not fit, I do not turn necks. Thanks for your trouble and information.

Can`t remember what it is out of the box,BUT i can tell you i turn mine to .012 so it gives me a .248 loaded round in a .250 chamber.......

Thanks for the help, I appreciate the information, will stick with my Win brass, I have shot a 222 since the mid 60's and think it is the most neglected caliber out there, too bad, it is a superb varmint and very acurate, easy to load and inexpensive to shoot, what is not to like about it. Thanks again for all the info.

I agree with area1 on the 222Rem. I'll always have a triple duce in my rack. Infact I have three of them right now. Outstanding little cartridge................

I have a .222 with a .250 neck. It has shot Over 10,000 rounds and I have thought about rebarreling it for a long long time. So far (25 years) I have not run across any factory brass (Win, Rem, Fed) that is too big loaded for the .250 neck. The throat is washed so far out getting to the rifling is not possible anymore. Even still the thing just punched around a .375 five shot group along with multiple 3 shotters to zero the scope after mounting. So I guess it will not get rebarreled for awhile again. It is a Rem. 700 w/ Hart sporter contour, 1 in 14 twist and .250 neck. Smithed by Fred Sinclair and bedded into the original sporter stock by Tom Merideth. If anyone has some Lapua brass that I could neck turn, I would be interested in turning some of them to fit the neck a bit better and get the neck centered. Unturned stuff is sometimes kinda lopsided. If that Lapua brass is as good as the .220 Russian for the PPC, I would like to try a few.
Thanks Lonnie
