.222-.223 Mini-Mauser

I'm a long time center fire rifle shooter (at present a .375 H&H, a .280 AI and a 6mm Rem) but never did get involved with Col Cooper's gas guns. I am fully aware that the .222 family of cartridges have made the finest groups ever shot. But my life-long rifle involvement has been with true CRF bolt actions; Pre-64 Mod 70s, Mausers, and Rugers. Does anyone make a CRF bolt action sized for the .222-.223 family? My answer is probably inside this keyboard but I don't know how to find it.

CZ makes a really nice mini Mauser, I believe they are the 527 series. They have a nice heavy barreled varmint model with a walnut, laminate, or synthetic stock. Very nicely built guns, though I have never shot one so I can't speak for accuracy.

You could also look for a good used Interarms Mark X Mini-Mauser. I like mine.

+1 Interarms Mini Mauser in 223. Very beautiful rifle and getting harder to find.

There were a couple mini's on Gunbroker recently , both were barreled 22-250 & unfinished stocks. The CZ is the better rifle but the Interarms/Charles Daly/Remington 799/ mini mausers are nice BUT I've never seen one yet that didn't need the bolt lugs trued. I have them in 223AI, 7.62x39, 30PPC & 223. All are fun lightweight rifles.

I should add that the mini's that I have are not true CRF's, they lack the big claw extractor.
