I chambered up this brand new 22" Proof Research Carbon Fiber barrel in 300 WSM for a client's Defiance Classic action. Unfortunately, miscommunication happened and the client was looking forward to a 300 Win Mag, not a 300 WSM. So.... $1250 gets somebody a brand new barrel. The current tenon build has a .253 recoil lug, with the rest of the specs matching up very closely to normal Rem 700 figures (1-1/16 - 16TPI)... muzzle end is threaded 5/8-24 x .600.
This would make a fantastic lightweight suppressed elk rig!
I've removed the barrel from the Defiance action and test fit it to a standard Remington 700. It can easily be touched up to fit either a short- or long-action 700 with .250 lug -- about .010"-.015 of rework to fit perfectly. I have 700 actions available (both long and short) that I could fit it to. PM if that route is interesting - I've got components in stock for your complete build.
