22 PPC BARREL TWIST

I am building a 22 PPC for P-DOGGING and 100 and 200 yard competition. I will be shooting 40-gr up to 60-gr bullets. Should I purchase a 12 or 14 twist barrel ? THANKS

Neither! Get a 9 or 10 twist if you're going to shoot 60's. And you're going to love it!! I shoot 69 MK's and wow, I can kill PD's to 600 yards easy. You'll still be able to shoot the 52gr bench rest bullets very well, too.

12" twist for sure if you plan on shooting 60 grainers. I would personally go for 10" or 9" twist but the 12" will work for your intended purpose. The 14" twist will be too slow for 60 grainers.

12 twist if using 60s. Faster twist gains nothing with that size bullets.

Since you have no plans to shoot heavier than 60 grains, the 12” twist will be all you need.
