22 K-Hornet

Got out the Ruger 77/22 K-Hornet and loaded up the last of my 40 grain Sierra's. Seeing how Sierra must be on hold with their bullets, its time to find something else. Any suggestions? I got to feed it something.

Yes, James Calhoon's 42gr. Double hollow points

I went to his web site. I like the price, 250 bullets for $58. I think I'll have to order some of them.

Nosler 40 Grain Vamageddon FB Tipped Bullets with Lti Gun Powder is what I'm using in my 22 K-Hornet.

What 40gr sierra are you using?

Calhoon bullets, silver coated easy clean, extremely accurate with excellent proformance, out of my 82 Kimber in the hornet, 12.5 gr little gun with Calhoon's 42 gr. One round hole at 65yrds
What kind of groups at 100yds.

My 77/22 prefers the hornady 50 spsx and prefers flat base bullets.
I run 11.8 lil gun wsp 1.810 oal with a crimp
Average 2850fps. Most recovered bullets weigh between 40-45gr and about double diameter. Majority of my shooting is 150yards or less. Very effective against coyotes even has enough to get away with a front leg shot.

My son just picked up a Cooper 38 in 22K Hornet 24" barrel with a 1-12 twist anyone using one and would like sheer so loading data on 22k Hornet with 1-12 twist, l have books that go back to the 60s must of them show 1-16 twist and 1 or 2 for 1-14 twist.

Should l anneal the shoulder?

l have 100 Win, hornet brass new and 40 RP used that l would have to fire form, l have a bunch of heads 36g 40g 45g and some 55g that l want to use just for fire forming, l have better heads that l will use for target shooting once l have then the cases fired from.

l have been reloading since the 70s so this is not new to me but never played with 22K hornet and fire forming 22k hornet l hear a lot about split cases point me in the right direction this all l have in brass and none to be had locally.

The power that l have is 2400 - unique - little gun - and 8lbs 700X from my shotgun days that would be great if it could be used.

l'm good with primers Rem. 7-1/2 CCI SR 400 and CCI SP.

l know what to do once their fire formed.
