22 hornet vs 22 k hornet

I'm going to have an anschutz rebarreled to a 22 hornet. I've always wanted something in this cartridge.
Is there any reason I should or shouldn't just make it a K hornet?
I know that this was a popular conversion in the time when hornets were more popular.
The gains in speed wouldn't be why I was considering the K chamber, more for the alleged gain in brass life.

I converted a 527 to the K Hornet simply for the potential accuracy gain and to have an actual shoulder to headspace from instead of the rim. Case life should also be improved over the standard Hornet. Good luck.

K Hornet for sure! If you can find some 680 powder, that's the stuff to use or 1680 with a 40 grain Nosler BT.
Don't try to shoot bullets over 40 gr., I never could get 50-53 gr. match bullets to shoot like 40s.
You will be amazed at the velocity the K will give. if your rifle will allow you to heat up the load. If I told you the velocity I get with a 40gr./680 load you would call me a liar!!

22 hornet is a nice little cartridge.very capable at moderate ranges.alot of the Anschutz actions are not threaded.the barrels are a press fit.just something to take note off.

Why not go to .20 cal. If you are buying a new barrel any way? 20 ackley hornet is my favorite rifle for squirrels and prairie dogs

I had a hornet, didn't really like the proformance, so I made it into a khornet, still didn't like the proformance, so then I made it into,.20 ackley hornet. Now I like it. Bullets can be sold, just my two cents. everyones different, you might enjoy it as a 22 hornet
