22 hornet bullet?

Just wondering if any of you that shoot and reload for a 22 hornet and use a 40 grain bullet? I will be using LIL' GUN powder.

Yep, I use the 40gr Vmax. Works as good if not a little better than any other bullet I have shot with my Hornet in the last 47yrs. I use 2400 still, but will be trying some Lil Gun soon.

I REALLY like the 34 g dog towns from midway . I bought a box of 500 for 40 bucksish when they were on sale . I have always wanted to try lil gun , but could never find any . H110 in the max load department gets me 3/4 or better groups . for 10 rounds ( I dont believe in 3 or 5 shot groups ) . This is through a POS NEF handy rifle . The 40 vmax shot pretty good , but at twice the price and a bit less pop .

40gr VMax and lil-gun all the way... in my K Hornet, 11gr for shooting fur under the lights and 13½gr for top of the line, groundhog and far shooting...

I may have to order some 40 gr dog town bullets to try. I can pick up some Hornady v-max at a local shop. I think the 40gr maybe what I am looking for though. Hunting G-hogs and looking for a good accurate round at the 200 yard mark and still have a little punch behind it.

35GR BERGERS OUT OF SAVAGE MOD.40 LITL-GUN POWDER 205M PRIMERS THIS LITTLE BUGGER IS MEAN!!!!!!!!! 3000FPS 13.6GRS

40 gr V-max with 13.1 gr of Lil-Gun !!! Awesome results !! Hornady list 13.3 as max charge for the 40 gr V-max.

I have been using 40 grain Nosler Balistic Tips and 12.9 grains of Lil-Gun. I have also been using both Rem 5 1/2 small pistol primers and Rem 6 1/2 small rifle primers. In guns that break open like the Contender I recommend the 6 1/2. I have found that sometimes the 5 1/2 primers leak . I think this is caused by the tiny space between the case and the receiver in a break open type single shot. I don't see this in bolt guns.
