22 Hornet Anschutz Rebarrel

I recently had an anschutz action ( I think it's a 1431) barreled and chambered in 22 k hornet. Does this combination need a recoil lug? I kinda expected to see one but did not have one installed. More I thought about it, seems overkill but makes sense at the same time. Any thoughts about this?

The Anschutz 1730 has a lug.

Wouldn't hurt anything, but apparently Anschutz didn't think it was necessary. I have an older Anschutz model 153, which is a .222 Rem. on the same action as yours. It didn't come with a recoil lug either. I added one some years ago and it was still just a 1 MOA rifle. Going to rebarrel it with a Hart, hopefully in the next year and see if it improves the accuracy.

Isn't the tang the recoil lug?
