22 dasher loads

im new to this forum and have been searching out loads for the 22 dasher,not a lot of info for the lighter pills,wanting to use 53gr vmax on rabbits out to 500mtrs+ that projectile seems to have a high bc compared to a lot of the other offerings in that weight range.
barrel is 1;12 twist truflight.
any information would be greatly appreciated.

I shoot straight 22 BR 12 twist. With 50-55 gr. bullets I use a stout load of 748. Shoots bug holes at over 3700 fps.

I shoot Varget and 55 grain ballistic tips out of my 22 Dasher fire form barrel. Shoots very well!

thanks for your replys,i will try those powders,what would be the gr's to start with for a 22 dasher? do you add say 5% from a standard br load?

I would start out at the standard BR loads and work up from there...

Yes I shoot Varget in both, the fire forming loads and fully formed loads. This is only with lighter bullets. I shoot H4350 with the 75's and 80's.

You can shoot plenty of other powders also with the light bullets, such as H322, H335, Benchmark, VV N135, 748...etc. I have tried a lot of them and had great luck. I just have a lot more Varget so I stuck with it.

will try the false shoulder method,can you reduce the neck from 6mm to .22 in one step or do you use a intermediate bushing?

I am working up loads for a 22 BRDX which has the 40° shoulder of the dasher but a little more neck. 63 gr cheeks shoot extremely well with h 4895. My barrel is a 12 twist and I'm getting 3650+ fps with h 4895 and primer pockets are staying tight. Interesting is that n135 blows primer pockets even at speeds less than h 4895? Varget is also doing well but h 4895 shoots the smallest holes, one load shooting in the ones.

LOVE MY 22 DASHER BUT DONT HAVE ANY LOADS FOR A 12 TWIST MINE HAS A 8 TWIST THAT SHOOTS LIGHTS OUT WITH 75GR BERGERS N-135 450'S PRIMERS
