I'm thinking about trying N550? I've tried Re#15.5 and H4350. I guess I can re-visit those. the SD were too high with the 6.5 Staball. My rifle has a 26" 8"twist bbl. These loads will be for Wyoming Prairie Dogs

Good Choice of Bullets w/ StaBall 65 powder !Thanks everyone. I'm going to start loading 75-77 gr bullets.
I have a bunch of N560,I'll try it. I wonder how a Berger 80.5 Full Bore will do on Prairie Dogs?I have had inconsistent SD's from ball powders in general, but especially ball powders loaded below max or those with ignition issues. It seems stuff like Staball needs to have a good case fill and higher pressures to have a hope for good SD. But sometimes it still doesn't deliver.
If you want to try a few more loads with Staball maybe a you could try a magnum primer?
That being said I love the N5** series powders. I shoot N560 under 80's in my 22 Creed and right from the get go it delivered very good accuracy and single digit SD's. I haven't shot any N550 in mine, just N560, so I can't comment on specific load data to help.
Hogdon uses, Lge Rifle, F-210-Match pr's with, MOST of, the StaBall 65 Loading's,.. that, I've seen.My 22 CM brass is all large rifle.
N-560 with 85.5s in mine too. 560 worked best with 80 and up. 26” 7tw Krieger. Also shot N555 with 77tmks really well in same barrel and a 22” ibi carbon 7tw. Wanted higher bc in heavier gun than tmk. When I got carbon barrel gun together took the 77tmk with 555 ammo to break barrel in and zero. It just hammered em in a ragged hole. First group after getting it zeroed was .198 with load for a different rifle. Nice to get lucky sometimes. Never changed load, still shooting the same after 400rds. Tmk’s will open critters up. That is the truck gun and does the most critter killing.I have had inconsistent SD's from ball powders in general, but especially ball powders loaded below max or those with ignition issues.
