Is it the higher velocity of lighter bullets or Longer heavier bullets 8"twist 26" bbl
Is Re#15.5 a hot, burning powder? My 22CM doesn't seem to like H1000
I would not waste my time worrying about barrel life.Is it the higher velocity of lighter bullets or Longer heavier bullets 8"twist 26" bbl
This is the typical I want to drive fast around corners but dont want my tires to wear.
22 Creed Burns barrels.
That's a good question. I don't want to burn it up in load development. However I think I've narrowed down my loads for MT PD'sWhy do you ask such questions “grasshopper”?
take em to a big prairie dog town with you---business security...I probably talk to 3 customers a week calling specifically to ask about the 22 Creedmoor because they read on the internet that it burns barrels I always ask them, compared to what? It's a 22 hot rod. It's going to have barrel life similar to all the other 22 hot rods throughout history. I don't think it's any more of a particular barrel burner than any of the others. If you use a super hot powder in it to get ultra high velocities then yeah you're probably going to burn your barrel up sooner. But it really has nothing to do with being a 22 Creedmoor.
Right now I say I'm probably selling as many 22 Creedmoor barrels as anything. I've been selling the 22 Creedmoor for about 3 years. I haven't had a customer come back to me and say they need a new barrel because they burned the other one up.

Speed killsExactly. Powder heat is what burns up barrels. Not bullets.
