22 CHeetah Mach 1

I've shot this caliber for many years. I'm not sure of the round count but it still shoots less than 1/2 moa and when you hit a critter there's no doubt of connection. Really have no complaints with this outfit but I'm going to re-barrel this year. The load I settled on is 46.0 grs. of H380, 50 gr. V-Max, Rem 7 1/2, with 308 BR fireformed brass at about 4100 fps with 14" twist. Question is what powder have other shooters of this caliber used. Biggest complaint of H380 is muzzle flash. I plan on using a 27" barrel next time instead of 24". This could reduce flash. I know this caliber isn't for everyone but it's been a hoot for me.

I shot IMR 4064 out of mine with great accuracy and also H414. It was one of my favorite prairie dog rifles. From the articles that I read IMR 4064 was the main powder that Carmichel used when he developed the cartridge. I also used 308 BR brass and 7 1/2's. I never noticed any muzzle flash just a big splash when the bullets hit!!

There was a good article in the Varmint Hunters magazine a few years ago.
I can't remember what powder he ended up usiing to get his to realy shoot.
