22 BR XP-100 1st

I finally got out with my 22br XP and at 218 yards got into it's first blood with a 40 grain BT at 3675fps with 31.8 grains of AA-2015, and the Wolf SRM primers....
I had the big 6br with me just in case ranges got out past 300 yards...
These big old WNY chucks take some killing and the 18 inch barrel worry's me about secure kills past 250 or so..... after seeing the damage, I won't worry anymore out that far....
That XP is wearing a new S-111-8x32 LR Sightron that continues to impress me more every day. The clarity is outstanding..... and the clicks do exactly what I ask of it, each and every time...
The barrel is a Pac-Nor 16 twist specially for the 40's

I've murdered them out to 400 yds with 40 gr b.tips in my pistol. I use a rifle scope on mine.

Don't ya just love the 22 BR in an XP ? I have a 22 BR XP bench pistol built by Eddie Harren of this Board and when setting up on a 'hog field it's my choice of arm. Have taken a number of 'hogs out to 300 yards with the 52 grain A-Max and am still working on the 400 yarder, but it will come. Love the gun !!

I've got 1 i bought at The Monte Vista Gun Works here in CO. Every time we went elk hunting with our bigger XP's, we'd stop in and take a look at some of the goodies they had in there. The rig had been there every year we stopped in. Finally the guy made me a deal and i went home with it. I'm shooting the 60 JLK Low Drag out of it and haven't had a chance to shoot it at long-range. Still needs a little bit of work to get it up and running right. Got a wierd scope on it though--a Leupold 24X converted to LER by Wally Siebert. Has a tree reticle TKLee system with 1/8th dots every 3.5".
