22 BR seating depth?

I plan to start load development for a new 22 BR rifle. I initially use Sierra 53 gr HP match bullets, their #1400 with H-322 powder.

I haven't done much 'benchrest' loading lately, but when I used a new bullet in a new rifle I always measured from the base of the case to the ogive on the bullet, and then seated the bullets about 0.015 or so off the lands. I did that with a Stoney Point tool which uses a modified case to determine at what length the bullet just touches the lands.

But I cannot find a modified 6 mm BR,Norma) case. Any suggestions how to get one of those?

Thanks!

You will need a 5/16' x 36 tpi tap, and thread the primer pocket of one of your own cases. This tap is not a hardware store item. Try Grizzly or one of the other mail-order tool distributors. I don't recall which drill bit you will need. A drill press, with vise), milling machine or lathe will ensure a perfect, straight) job.

A Search may provide complete info.

AIRC, Hornady will do it for you, but they're expensive.

PaperSniper999: Sinclair 2009-A catalog, page 29, part# CFG-6BR, Series A @ $5.50. For an item this small/light, they should send parcel post.:)

Rats, Sinclair is out of them and not taking back orders!

I may have to make my own but doubt I have the skills or equipment to make a good one.
