.22 B/R Loads

Hi , could anyone give me some pointers , ie, load data , results please ,
Using a 1 in 12 twist Shilen Barrel . for my .22 B/R on my A/I Action
Wanting to shoot 53 Grain V-Max Bullet ,
Powder, Primers , Verlocity , Seating depth , and any other help would be greatful

Mine shoots well with Varget 32.8grs and 52gr bergers with 450cci @3400fps 5 shots low1s and 2s

Using the exact same bullet as you, I am using 29.6g of Benchmark. This load consistently produces group sizes in the high .1's to low.2's range. This is out of a Rem. 700 that was re-barreled by Jim Hart using the same Rem. varmint contour.

re your choice of bullet weight...a 12 twist does wonders with bullets weighing 60,62,63 and 64 gr. i'v read that bullet stability and accuracy can be best just at it's margin of being unstable in flight. my 12 twist krieger consistently prints groups in the ones and often in the zeros...0.075 in. with 64 bergers and n 540 powder. love this cartridge for varmint shooting...got 26 ghogs WITHOUT a miss last year. have a 14 twist being made presently and plan on shooting 52 fowlers to start and maybe 60 bergers if they stabilize.

Who made this gun for you? What are the other particulars to go with the Krieger barrel?
thanks

JeffS: my gunsmith is a retired remington gsmith and is in his late 70's. he has only one good eye, one kidney and can't have anymore stents in his coronaries. his wife only lets him open his shop from 1-5 three time weekly. he has a list of loyal customers, so i have to wait my turn. i have been convinced, mainly by reading on this forum that the action can make a rifle, if everything is first class. i bought my first custom action and totally agree. the single shot glass bedded stiller predator was my latest and is shooting the small holes with 63 cheeks using n140. a 1.5 oz jewell is heaven and a nightforce is sweet...npdd reticle. i read somewhere "what does it take to consistently shoot one hole?...$$$. of course, we have to do our homework, but the 22 BR is very forgiving and a pleasure to shoot.

That was a great answer! Thanks for the simplicity. Paraphrasing for you: you get what you pay for, no free lunch. Most of life is like that it seems.

Hi all,

Great info here. Anyone using the heavier 60+ grain bullets? I'd appreciate any starting loads with 8208, Varget, and any of the Vihtavuori powders.

Thanks much
