22-6mm Improved Spec Questions

Ok, this might have an obvious answer to die hard Ackley fans and wildcatters, but I need you gents help. Don't know if I should post this here, in the 22 caliber section, in the reloading section or in the gunsmithing section???

Chambered up a new Bartlein 5R 8.5 twist about a month ago and with fall weather and my health issues I haven't gotten out with it much yet.

My reamer is a JGS marked 22/244 Ackley
My Go guage is a Manson marked 244 Ackley (I assume this is the correct guage for a 22/6mm also or are they different?)
My dies are RCBS FL set marked 22-6mm Ackley Improved.

I can chamber a fired round easily so not a nonconcentric chamber issue. I had it fit for zero headspace but hadn't tightened barrel real tight prior. After all machining was done and I applied anti seize it was tight so I disassembled it and cut a bit more so now with a piece of Scotch tape it starts to tighen almost all the way cammed down so am guessing roughly .0015 headspace which I think smart for a yote rig?

My issue is after full length sizing using 2 different RCBS shell holders it almost won't close. I had another shell holder I had chucked up and cut IIRC about .002 off for a different project yrs back. Using that shell holder everything works fine.

So is there a few thousandths difference between a 22-244 Improved chamber and a 22-6mm*Ackley* Improved chamber??? I am hesitant to call it an 'Ackley' as it is not an Improved parent case but is necked down?

Anyone with any answers????? I now have 71 rounds down it and think my load will be 52.9gr of H4831SC with a Berger 70VLD as that is all the heavier I can go and mag feed at 2.80". Wanted to shoot the 75Amax but didn't have any freebore specs as I bought the reamer some years back and gent didn't know specs. Therefore when chambered up it is 2.935" to lands with the 75Amax so plans changed :(

The 52.9gr with the 70VLD is @ 3660fps so think not much more left to reach topend! This with 24" finished length.

After reading the melonite thread I think that is what I need to do with this potential barrel burner but need to get this resizing issue figured out first. If I understand the process correctly the 70ish rounds is about where I should be before the process????

Is the Mimi Trutec Butch mentions about the best place? What kind of price is the process and turn around time??? Sorry for all the questions but sure would appreciate any advice or recommendations. In my part of the country this melonite is all unheard of and other than trying to find accurate info on the net I have no other place to go to get answers.

Thanks in advance to anyone with feedback.

Respectfully,
Dennis

The only difference between the 2 is the name, and maybe who supplied the reamer, and who did the chambering job as far as fitting goes..
The 244 Ackley gauge can be safely used in the 22/6mm..
If your tweaked shell holder is allowing your cases to close with a little pressure your on the right road.
Improved and Ackley are the same as long as both have the 40 degree shoulder. The only difference would be maybe if one reamer was a tiny bit different than another one. Talking .0001 here is all..

I've seen more than a few sets of FL dies that didn't bump the shoulder. I would have either your shell holder or the dies machined for .002"-.003" headspace for a field rifle.
