22-250 with AICS Mags

I recently purchased a chassis for my RAP in 22-250 to get rid of that tupperware stock (what I’m thinking is causing the inaccuracies), but I’m having issues with the Aics mags. It starts feeding and then jams up at the bottom of the chamber (in the picture). I’m using the magpul mags. Cause that’s what I read on other forums that work. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

I don't know the fix. But most likely the cause is the severe taper of the stock .22-250 case. Which is magnified when you stack multiple cases on top of each other. You may be able to tweak the spring so the follower presents the case parallel to the chamber. Sorry, that's all I have.

Tried a Savage 22-250 in a chassis with MDT mags before changing the barrel.
The mag spring is big coil so the follower runs in guide slots to keep it flat. You can put 5 in a 10 before it binds, nose up.
The feeding issue is normal. The mag feed lips are not tapered.
You’ll need a straight case in a chassis.

You can sand or file off material from the front of your feed lips to release the cartridge more. If you had metal mags, you bend them up at the front. Make sure everything is put together properly before you do.
I don’t own that particular gun so I’m just guessing. From the pic, it looks like the bolt is over riding the base of the case. Better pics would help.

Based on your picture, it looks like the bolt is climbing over the top of your cartridge. I would think that is caused by improper magazine height, magazine positioned too low.

What Edd said. I ran the 22-250 case in AICS single stack mags and the taper was never a problem, actually, I think it helped. Get the rear of the case up in front of the bolt.

Thanks for the reply’s. But the bolt is catching the round like it should (not climbing over it). This picture more accurately represents what’s happening. The back of the cartridge is being thrown up causing the front to dive down. Maybe the feed lips aren’t long enough, because there’s a big gap in the front since it’s meant for 308?

Is the nose of the bullet catching under the receiver? If it is, you will need to notch the receiver or put a plate in the front of your magazine,

It looks like it’s catching right underneath the barrel

I’ve been messing with it all day today and found out if I try to feed it slow/soft it binds/jams up. But if I rack the bolt fast/hard it works perfectly fine. I believe because when I go slow the magazine spring/follower is able to throw the back of the case up causing the front to nose dive.

I would consider a spacer in front, stopping the follower and spring from pivoting forward kicking the back up, and creating the nose dive. Assuming that you have room. Just a thought.
