22-250 to 6X47 Swiss Match

gentleman
Im really having a hard time getting 22-250 brass converted to 6x47 swiss match brass. I stopped by the local gun shop yesterday and picked up some Remington brass. I have a Redding FL die and use imperial sizing lube.
The case is very close to the 6XC and 6X47L so this should be a no brainer.... yet Im getting the shoulder to collaps and looks like and accordian when slowly step by step pushing the shoulder back to create the long neck. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Are you useing correct lube ? When forming cases all I use is Imperial no sprays or liquids. Body dies are what I use instead of FL dies this is my method FWIW. It's also possible you may need to anneal first to SOFTEN up the thicker shoulder area.

definitely anneal.I got a benchsource and never looked back.I would also contact redding and get a forming die to do most of the work.I have run 30-06 brass straight into a 22-250 die with no expander ball and made a nice long neck and trimmed and turned and voila instant 22-250 brass. Some cases arte worse than others.See if anyone has a couple norma cases and try them the way you are trying to do this and if it works then it is obvious that annealing is necessary.

Had another thought :o You may be going TOOOO Slow, lube it up and pull the handle down , no need to get wimpy with it.

Got it figured out.

Went to Larry Medler(SP?) web site and ended up using the 308 Die to push the shoulder back at 20* then pushed it back with the 6X47SM FL die and viola.... new brass. problem solved.
