22.250 to 22BR

I currently have a Rem 700 SA 22.250 with a 1-14 twist. The barrel is a SS VSF. With that said can it be rechambered to 22br for bench rest shooting. The 22.250 case length is only .830 longer than the 22br. I was thinking if the threads were cut by .830 re-threaded and then chambered to 22br would that work? I don't have enough and thickness to remove the entire 22.250 chamber.
Will the 1-14 twist work with 52 grain bullets? Thanks in advance for your advice.
