22-250 load development & cleaning

For starters how often do most of you clean your 22-250's? Have you ever taken it to the point where you found a loss in accuracy? I'm also wondering how often you clean during load development. I typically strip it back down to the bare bore after every 10 to 15 rounds. Am I cleaning too much?

Heck I have gone 100 rounds or more in a prairie dog town without cleaning and really don't notice any accuracy loss. I will miss a few way out there but it's usually me doing the missing and not the rifle....LOL ;D During load development I will shoot 3 or 4 fouler shots then shoot 15 to 25 rounds without cleaning.....I clean it when I get home. Heck maybe I don't clean enough! ::) :) Usually when shootin prairie poodles I will run some cleaner with a bore snake after 50 rounds or so with most of my rifles if I think about it...LOL

i clean well before start shooting, shoot 4-5 fowlers, to get the impact visable away from the aiming point.

then shoot 3-5 of each load, cool, 10-15 min, then next load, etc.

if I go past 25-30 total rounds I take a dry brass brush a couple of passes, shoot 2 fowlers and clean when I get home.

this works for me.

Fair enough. I kind of figured I was getting a little obsessive compulsive with the cleaning. I'll probably just leave it & shoot at least 20 or 25 during load development.
