.22-250 and .22 Creedmore from .308win ?

So sorry if this is pretty amateur but anyone form .22-250 or .22 creed from .308 win ? If so what was you process ? I can get some once fired .308 stupid cheap and was thinking. It would be nice to have some made for each for plinking or varmint shooting where I don't wanna loose the nicer stuff I got :)

Figured I could just take that the .308 and just go from a .308 FL die down to a 6.5 creed , then a 6mm creed or .243 then to either .22-250 or .22 Creedmore.

Or should i use 6.5 creed brass instead, I can get it about as cheap as the .308

These are both AR10's btw

Thanks

Alright I've been doing exactly this for a good little bit here so let me tell you my process

First of all you're going to have to get a small base 22 Creedmoor die
knock .050" off the brass OAL with a trimmer
lube em up ..go .308 dies to 6.5 creed and then 6 creed FL die then finish with your 22 creed
SB die.

check OAL again for your chamber ...check neck diameter for your chamber

Do not use a decapping pin beyond the initial 308 die.

Use lanolin for brass

22-250 has a smaller base than the 308. Not much, but enough to give you issues. Dirt cheap 308 brass has many times been shot in a machine gun. Last bunch that was given me was so stretched 0.060 or even more needed to be trimmed. A case head seperation waiting to happen. Not worth the work imo.

Can you make it work? Yes
Will you learn a huge pile of stuff along g the way. Also yes
Is it worth the effort? Not likely.

Try forming the 6.5 creed from the 308 brass and see what happens. The brass has to go somewhere. Plan to neck turn and trim.

I never recommend a mixed brass approach to any caliber. It causes issues and solves the real goal cost. My opinion.

Peterson sells 22CM brass prime and load no work involved.

I did 6CM to 22CM 3 or 4yrs ago, when that brass is done I won't do it again.
