22-250 a.i. or 243 a.i.

I am thinking about building another target rifle. I already have a savage target action. Was wondering what caliber would be best. I am going to use it at local shoots and own enjoyment. The range I shoot at the max distance is 500 yards for now. The reason I am thinking about these calibers is I already have a 22-250 savage lrpv 1-9 twist and 243 that I use for hunting and have lots of new brass for both. Looking for accuracy and barrel life. Already have a 6br. Thinking of shooting 80 or 90 in the 250ai and in the 243ai probably 105. What barrel is the best to go with benchmark or mcgowen. The stock will probably come from sharpshooter supply.

Thanks for the help and good shooting

p.s. new at this benchrest game

Kevin Rayhill over at Stockade guns built me a 22-250AI on a savage action that shot lights out 1/8 twist Benchmark heavy palma contour 80gr nosler custom comp.bullets with a big dose of VV N560 shot a lot of 1' groups @ 500 yards.
My vote would be the 22-250AI.

I currently own a 22-250AI and a 220 swift with 1-8 twist barrel. If you just want a new caliber to target shoot with thats reason enough to rechamber your LRPV. However for a 500 yard gun you will be hard pressed to find a better caliber than the 6mmbr you already have. Go here and post the same question in the factory hybrid section www.benchrestcentral.com

How about a 6BRX, I had my 6BR rechambered to 6BRX and love it, also gained 130 fps on a 24' barrel. Very accurate.
