22-250 7twist

Wow! Thats a tight twist! I built a .22/250 with a 1-8" twist and it shot great. My loads were really hot and the barrel was worn out in only a few hundred rounds. That being said. IMR-4831 gave me the highest velocities with the heavy bullets to 80 grains. Just keep your velocities at 3000 FPS with the 80's (I chronographed 3300 fps) and no more than 3400 with 70 grain bullets. Watch pressure signs. If you plan on using the 90 grain bullets, there is some data, online, or call Sierra. That is outside my experience. Have fun. If you can see pressure signs on the case, the barrel will not last long. I have 2 more barrels that are ready for fitup and chambering in .22/250 and heavy bullets. For my setup, the 70 gr. VLDs are probably the best all around choice for Varmints and medium unknown distances. The heavier bullets for known distances and very long range shooting. Just some thoughts. Greg

Agree with Preacher on the H-4350.

I also have good results with H-4831.

my barrel is a 1:9 twist, & good accuracy to 200 yds, don't have a 300 yd., or longer range.
