22-204ai puts another coyote down

Only downside I've found to the Bering Hogster is they are really designed to be mounted on a AR. I prefer to use bolt action, so had to go to chassis to get good cheek weld. I run anker battery pack instead of the Cr123's. Can easily go all night powered up while calling. Built it on Savage action, 22" varmint, 9 twist barrel. Oryx chassis. It's been a hammer.

I really like the sounds of that round, I think we chatted on predatormasters about it. I was mentioning it to my old local smith who's made some 223ai's for me, how different are the neck lengths on the 223ai vs 22-204ai? Would a 223ai reamer run deep work, then use 223ai dies set off the holder the proper amount to resize?

The problem with that is it wouldn't size down to the web, and you could end up with the dreaded "click".

However, a little know "hack" is to use a 357 Mag die to size the web of .378" sized cases.

So far I haven't had to resize the bases. Been 14-15 load cycles on the brass now with no issues. I have modified a 223 small base die to resize the bases if needed. Just have to do an extra step. Otherwise I'm just using a 223ai bushing die for the body
