21st Century Power Conversion for Neck Turning Lathe

Just got my power conversion unit for John's case neck turning lathe and man oh man is it nice. I was using my cordless drill before and it was not what it should have been. But the power conversion unit was just fantastic. John really hit this one out of the park. It is well engineered and really makes neck turning a pleasure!!

Not for the faint of heart or light of wallet.

I don't have a problem spending the money as long as I can justify it as being worth it. for me this price point is to high because it's a convenience. I have the lathe and although I would love one I can use the gyro screwdriver no problem.

I would say that if the price was lower he would sell a lot more. he would also sell more complete lathes to new customers. not knocking him for anything. I have a lot of his equipment and love it. just my observations

Wow, really $500 !
Half of my loading bench has 21st tools they make or sell, I'll also add the tools John designs are made to the highest standards out there, you'll never go wrong buying from 21st and the customer service is GREAT too.
For that price for a tool I only occasionally use and it doesn't really improve the tools job other then speed, I'll take a few more minutes to turn my necks.
I'll also add I guarantee the conversion will work faultlessly if John designed it.
I'd like someone to make a fixture to hold a power drill or screwdriver at a reasonable price , Id buy one.

John is always thinking. the good thing about this setup is you can get the motor if youre so inclined or go with the cheaper option of using a drill. most companies dont even think of giving a cheaper option.

Here is a copy of the introduction video of 21st century's shootings powered neck turning lathe. If you compare price to other powered options its really not a bad price point. so many improvement's. like the center to center accuracy of the mandrel and case holder , the intermittent power button that is built-in to the handle for smooth operation , no heavy drill hanging from the tool for better accuracy and control , and the powered unit rides smoothly on the base guide rail that have really made this tool the best out there and you have the option of just purchasing the power conversion kit.

Not to mention that the neck turning option is just the tip of the iceberg with this powered lathe set up. There are more additional features in the works to be released soon.

Compare this powered lathe to the high end power centers and you’ll see that it is comparable with better features. These high end power centers are a box with a fixed chuck. Price a high end power center with neck turning tools and it will come out higher.

Yes it is a lot of money but with John’s tools you truly get what you pay for. Quality and precision with true repeatability. Couple that with the fact it is all designed and machined/assembled in the USA backed by the 21st Century service you are used to.

This powered lathe is the real deal. Speed, precision, and repeatability. It makes the turning process fun. This in addition to the additional tools that are going to be added to the family and you have a truly versatile system that may replace some of your current tools on your bench.

I love my 21st Century lathe. Does great with a 12v drill. I personally wouldn't spend $500 to power it but I'm also sure that it's a super nice deal for those who would. All their stuff is obviously top notch.

Why didn't you buy the same two speed drill John used when he first introduced the lathe. It works great, slides easily attached to the lathe and canted toward you.
