215M

Can the Federal 215M large rifle magnum match primers be shot in a .308. I got my hands on some 215M's and and want to shoot them in my .308. I know they are meant for 30-06 cases and larger, but will the .308 handle them. All published loads I have found are with 210M's.
Another part to this question. If I do go with the 215M's in a .308, should I start with a powder on the fast burn rate side, or a slower powder.
Powders being shot in the .308 include, listed from fastest to slowest):
H335
H4895
IMR4895
IMR4064
Reloader15
Varget
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Magnum primers are often recommended when using spherical powders regardless of the cartridge being used. 215M primers should work just fine in the .308. I've used magnum primers in the .243 Win with great results. You probably want to reduce the powder charge a couple grains when using 215M and then work up to find out the correct maximum load.

215s aren't really necessary in the 308 even with ball powders until the temps start getting below say 40 deg. F. I would back off your current powder charge a couple grs. and work back up especially in this heat, summer). 49.3grs. H335 150gr. NBTs with 215s is a load that has worked quite well for me in the winter,deer/coyote load).45.5grs.4895 150gr.NBTs with 215s is another, caution these loads were safe in my rifle work up slowly)
