210 grain Barnes 338 TTSX BT data and info

So glad to find this site, I have acquired a Remington model 700 classic in 338, am trying various bullets when i am able to shoot again, but wondered if anyone had loads for this Barnes bullet, I am using W760 as i have lots of it, and it meters so well.

But the loads in Barnes do not go as high as the ones for a 210 Nosler partition, so wonder why is that and does anyone know a load using the W760 powder, have a Ruger M77 tang safety also coming, so will be interesting to compare the two rifles when able.
Thanks for any help.

Non lead core bullets usually have lower powder charge weights. I have used H380 as an alternative to the regular powders, with a mag primer in my 338wm.

What load? I decided to try 64.5 Grains of W760, will be a while till I can shoot, as have had detached retinas, in the past and am now recovering from a Cornea transplant.

Thanks for the info.

The 210 Barnes TTSX is 1.473" long.

The 210 Nosler Partition is 1.200" long.

Solids like the Barnes are longer for the same weight as cup and core bullets which are shorter when compared.

When seating these bullets to 3.320" COAL per Barnes, the TTSX is seated 0.273" deeper in the same case (338 Win Mag). The TTSX takes up more powder space than the Partition because it's longer.

Conversely, you can seat the TTSX out further to 3.600" to regain some of that space but now you have the problem of magazine length and feeding. My M70 has a magazine limit of 3.340" so this won't work for this rifle. However, on a custom with a custom magazine, I can load out to 3.700" or 3.600" in this application.

:)

You will need to know the appropriate distance where the bullet drops under 2000 fps, this will be the max range for reliable expansion of a solid copper bullet.
