Looking for results on coyotes with this bullet in 204 ruger, presently using 35 and 40 gr bergers but would like some better BC, my gun isn't liking the 32gr blitzkings as well as I would like either.

What case are you running to get that velocity? Perfect not looking for exit wounds at all but the best BC fur bullet I can be shooting, the 35 bergers just don't look like they can reach very far.Run them in an 8 1/2tw at 4200 and change, the terminal ballistics are amazing. Don't expect an exit with these parameters.

That has been my experience as well...splash at closer distances, but great if you shoot them out there a little bit. I too would like to know, like Breakshunter, the cartridge that is getting 4200+ and not blowing up the bullets. I ran a Krieger 9 twist 20BR and had to keep the 39 sierra at/under 3800 or it would blow up...can't imagine an 8.5 at 4200 and them not "puffing". I can get the 39 sierra to stay together in an 11 twist out of a 20 Blitz at 4000+I have had splashes on shots under 80 yards with the 39gr blitz kings in my 204. I now use a 20 vartarg and 40gr Berger's and haven't had any issues since going to the Berger's.
How do you get the 20cal 39gr sierra to work in a 223AI?The best bullet for coyotes in a 20 cal I’ve found. I use them in 204 ruger and 20 practical and 223 ai. 39 sierra kill out to 500 yards for me. Used em for years the best.

lol oops what was I thinking lol they rattle down the barrel. meant to write 20 vartargHow do you get the 20cal 39gr sierra to work in a 223AI?![]()
Have you tried the 40 V-Max in your rifle? Some people have trouble with the 12 twist and the 40V-Max.I am limited to the 40 Berger because my coyote rifle in 20AR is a 13 twist,I run the Berger at 4000fps and most shots are DRT with out an exit.Lots of fur hunters like the 35 Berger as well.I like the 39 Sierra and have killed a few pds beyond 500 yards up on the Montana border with my 12 twist 20BR,I was using my accuracy load just loafing them along at 4000fps.What surprised me was they completely expanded and did not exit, all the energy was expelled in the pds, just what you want in a hunting bullet.I have had better carnage with the 11 twist 20Duster(20-222imp) and the 40 V-Max at almost 600yards.I think you will be fine with the 39 Sierra and what I assume is a 12 twist barrel.Good luck.Looking for results on coyotes with this bullet in 204 ruger, presently using 35 and 40 gr bergers but would like some better BC, my gun isn't liking the 32gr blitzkings as well as I would like either.
Were you downshifting from 5th or going up from 1stMy Volvo burning french fry oil will chirp the tires at 100 MPH shifting into second gear!
This must be a rifle built by that famous gunsmith AB from Ohio, it would have to be in order to get that type of velocity from a 223 sized case and keep 39 sierra bullets together at that speed/rpm in an 8.5 twist barrel. Simply Amazing!
I did not have great results on coyotes with the 40 gr vmax. Bergers work very well, just looking for a better bullet for stuff past 200, the 35s drift so bad in the wind.
Got me!Were you downshifting from 5th or going up from 1st
