.20cal 32g Varmeggdon question

Anybody having trouble with 32grain .20cal Varmegeddon bullets killing quickly? I've shot three in the last week or so that acted very strangely. One hit at exactly 200yds- just kind of rocked side to side for a few seconds then tipped over off the rock he was sitting on. Hit was right in the shoulder with no exit. Another was hit same place (shoulder) from 150 yds away and crawled off about fifty yards before it expired. No exit. The last one was really bizarre. Shot right in the shoulder neck junction at 110 yards. She just stuck her head up at the shot like she was trying to see where that loud noise just came from. Both myself and the ranch owner heard the bullet smack but she just acted like nothing happened. Then she turned a complete circle on the rock pile she was sitting on just like a dog does on it's bed and then sat back down. Just as I was going to send another her way she crawled up and over the top of the pile. I looked through my six power to see if there was a bullet splash on any of the rocks and couldn't see any. Then I looked through my 8 power binoculars and thought I could see a small spot of blood on the top rock she'd crawled over. So we went and checked and there on top of the rock pile leading down the other side is a small blood trail in small spots just here and there- not a solid trail like when they are gut shot or have a large exit wound. There's a junked Corvair Van at the bottom of the rock pile and there she lay, dead. Cartridge is a .20 Ackley Bee (long necked) and velocity over an Oehler 35 is 3414fps.
My question is this : Has it been anybody's experience that these bullets need to be going faster to do a quick job of killing? I get far better results with a .17 Fireball pushing a 20g V-Max at 3850fps. I suspect I've got a velocity problem as there were no exit wounds on any and there didn't appear to be any shock factor.

ive noticed similar results out of my 22 calibers. It is almost always related to speed. but not always does it need to be faster. for some strange reason ive had bullets preform better at slower speeds. you could try them in a faster cartridge and even try them slower. You just have to try and see what it takes to get them to preform like you want them to. considering that most of the 20 caliber bullets that have been introduced lately are marketed towards the. 204 i imagine those will perform better at a faster speed than what your bee is doing. just a thought
