204 R load one half way between trailboss and factory?

I have a CZ in 204 and with factory ammo it's loud, flashy and you can't see your hits. I've loaded some trail boss loads and they are fun. Is there a loading between the trail boss and factory?

IN australia the 204R is such a popular cartridge. A lot of hunters use sierra 39gn SBK using ADI 2206H powder, equivalent to hodgdon A4895, if your worried about noise and flash and any other issue, like
"varmintshooter" said, rebarrel your CZ to a 20VT. The CZ is a excellent donor action for a 20VT.

Years ago I used 4227 in small doses, about 12 grains, in a swift and a 40 grain bullet....shot good but a 222 with 5 grains of unique shot way better. Always worried about detonation witht he swift.

Look up calhoons article on blue Dot loads. Called "to Bee or not to Bee". You can safely run Blue dot reducing velocity in the standard small cases, according to him

A shooter that belongs to my club, has worked out a load with 32 gr Varmagedon HPs. He is using 25.5 gr of H322 with CCI 200s and 2.220 OAL. He taper crimps slightly. It works so well in a Factory Remington XR-100 with a bull barrel that I bought the rifle from him. The velocity is about 3800 fps (26 inch barrel) which is about 300 fps below what I get with a full power load. I use 28.0 gr of IMR-8208 with 32 gr Hornady Z-Max with my rifles that have muzzle brakes and therefore less problem seeing the hit. I have struggled to find a modest reduced load in the .204 Ruger until I barrowed this from a fellow shooter. I have tried IMR 4759 and built loads in the Trail Boss range. I also have tried LT-32 from Accurate.
Using the NTX bullet from Hornady might also reduce recoil for you because it is lighter. I use Benchmark with my NTX loads.
