Less than one week to go before our first matches of the year at Dead Zero. We are considering shooting pair fire on Sunday if there is a consensus prior to the match.

When the access point is restored early next week I am going to test the pair fire mode.. it is important that we make sure to develop our ability taking 45 second turns…. Some of us are headed to the TSRA state match Texas in a few weeks and its two days pair fire.. 2 sighters (morning 2 minute blow off)

I have been in contact with the folks at Shotmarker in order to get updated software allowing for match features like pair fire. Adam has responded and working on it for DZ. Otherwise I am not aware of how to run an appropriate pair fire match with the current software version.

Today marked our first official Long-Range Highpower match at Dead Zero for 2026. Winds were blustery (minimum 9-13 mph) and very hard to read. It was also a bit cold. These were some of the most challenging winds we have experienced at Dead Zero in a while, and several people remarked that these were some of the worst scores they had shot in a long time. Oh well...tomorrow is another day.



Note: Some of you guys did not add up your X counts correctly, but I fixed them.

OK, we all survived another windy day at Dead Zero. Our next matches will be 4/25 & 4/26. Remember we also have a 1000-yard match at AEDC (Tullahoma, TN) next weekend: 2026 AEDC Mid/Long-Range High Power Matches

Of course we all love F-Class shooters, but it would not hurt anyone's feelings if more sling shooters attended these matches!
