Heard they didn't rotate benches every match during unlimited. Only every other match. Thus didn't conform to stated NBRSA rules.

Rules are Rules for a reason!
NBRSA rules should not be altered at a sanctioned match. This was a highly anticipated match and shooters traveled a long distance to attend.
I also heard multiple shooters, that had already registered and paid, refused to shoot the Unlimited class. I also heard this range announced they will no longer be hosting NBRSA matches in the future.

I heard that the shooters agreed to only rotate benches after every other match for Unlimited only.
Nobody could point to rule that required it. It was also rumored that Dave Woodward (NBRSA president) resigned over it.
Shooters did NOT agree to this and even if they did, they don’t have the power to override the rulebook. There is a procedure to have a rule changed and that clearly didn’t happen.

I believe that I misspoke about them agreeing.

I just looked it up. NBRSA Rules 6.5.5 looks to cover bench rotation. It refers to a match, but then says event.
However, the word "event" is not clearly defined. Any vague wording is open to interpretation.
I'm curious how this plays out.

from the NBRSA rule book on the NBRSA website.

"6.5.5. Under no circumstances will a shooter be allowed to select his/her bench. In lieu of a physical bench drawing, computer software approved by the NBRSA Board of Directors may be used to randomly draw benches. At National Championship Tournaments, a system of bench rotation will be used whereby each competitor will fire his/her first match on the assigned bench and for each following event, he/she shall move a predetermined number of benches to the right. This bench rotation system may be used at any NBRSA Match when so elected by the Host Club."

Clear to me that you must move / rotate after each and every target shot.

I agree

The fact that they chose not to rotate benches after every match should have no bearing on whether the winner of the 100, 200, and Grand Aggregate would be awarded the appropriate HOF points.

The reason being is the HOF is NOT a purview of the NBRSA. It is a separate entity.

It has always been understood that HOF points were awarded at IBS and NBRSA National Events for yardage wins, Grand Agg wins, and the Three Gun.

This was still The Unlimited Nationals regardless of the Ranges decision on how it would be run or who chose to shoot or not.
