Hmmmm.... after fourteen days, the submission of a myriad of documents and the payment of an enlarged (?) fee, I received approval to attend the 2023 SHOT Show today. I have been going to the show pretty consistently under various umbrellas since the 80s with something of a small gap due to work.
I fully expect the show to be sparsely populated this year, but am happy to be proven wrong. Looks as if we have a new show management company this year which is making all attendees re-register. I am betting a lot of previous attendees fall out.
Last year many large exhibitors just didn't show up. I don't blame them. The SHOT Show has become a very expensive proposition if you figure travel, hotel, food, fees etc.
I moved to an off-Strip hotel this year as $650 plus $50 parking at a mid-range hotel was just too much for two nights. And I am use to paying a lot for hotels (think Shangri-La for those who travel).
Others may have different views but I am not sure how many more years the SHOT Show has in its current format .
