2023 Raton Group Benchrest matches - NRA Whittington Center - PRIZES!

The dates for the short range group benchrest matches in Raton have been set. Kelly Ellis and Dennis Martin will be running the matches this year. We would like anyone that wants to shoot with us to come out and enjoy the Whittington Center with us. If you haven't been there, you're missing out.

The dates are as follows:
May 27 & 28 - The Best of The West - LV/HV 100/200
June 17 & 18 - The Enchantment - UNL or HV/SP 100/200
July 15 & 16 - The Firecracker - LV/HV 100/200
August 19 & 20 - The Rattlesnake - LV/HV 100/200

This year a meal each Saturday night after flags are set is planned.
Menu as follows;
May 27 Pulled pork, potato salad and BBQ beans
June 17 Grilled hamburgers and chips
July 15 Brats & hotdogs and chips
August 19 Rib-eye steaks, baked potato and salad
The cost of these meals are included in the entry fees and Family members are welcome.
We ask that if you intend to participate in any one of our matches Please notify Dennis or Kelly, especially in August.

Dennis and Kelly have decided to distribute part of the cash donations as follows; the small group for each target in each class will pay $25.
For example:
for LV 100
Match 1 small group $25
Match 2 small group $25
Match 3 small group $25
Match 4 small group $25
Match 5 small group $25
and so on.

Small group for the yardage award is yet to be determined.

This will be for all classes in all 4 matches. Each event will pay 20 small group cash awards, with the exception of the UNL/HV - SP match there will also be small group awards paid to the HV class, we feel this is a good way to spread more of the winnings around.

We have amassed a very impressive amount of prizes donated by some very generous donors and are very grateful. Thanks to all and hope to see you at our events this season.

Don’t forget about The Enchantment match in Raton next week on the 17th and 18th. It’s the first half of the New Mexico 4 gun. We will be shooting unlimited 10 shot and sporter. For those without an unlimited gun we will have a HV match at the same time. Also, we will be having hamburgers for supper Saturday evening at the range. So dust off those rails and come shoot with us at the Whittington Center.
