2022 Space Coast Regional? Answers to your questions

Time for an email due to the overwhelming number of emails, phone calls and FB Messenger inquiries I have been getting in regards to the Space Coast Regional for 2022.

The 2021 SCR turned out to be very successful and I assumed we would carry it over to a yearly event. Unfortunately, the only feedback I received was through various people telling me the club was unhappy with the event and the large payouts were an issue. I was told there would be significant changes if it were to happen in 2022.

So, I am not sure what will happen for 2022 as it’s Jan and there has been no official word. PMRPC could host the event again with Chip as the Match Director. It is possible, but doubtful, that it could be folded into the Orange Blossom Regional with Brad as the Match Director. Or the 2021 SCR could have been a one off event. Only time will tell.

Hope that answers everyone’s question. I really enjoyed last years event and want to say thanks again to all the competitors and sponsors. I hope the New Year is treating everyone well! Looking forward to seeing some of you all in Phoenix!

Cheers,

Dave

It was my favorite match I attended last year.

Hopefully, this will pan out soon and we can do this again. One of the best matches I have attended. If you are willing to run this again, my vote would be YES PLEASE. I know conversations are still ongoing and if I can be of any help, message me.

Dave,
You really did run a great match and I can tell you we all enjoyed ourselves. I spent the year putting my rifle on a diet and am looking forward to a rematch.

I seriously doubt that your OBR option would ever pan out. For two reasons:
1. Brad will not run any FClass matches as he has publicly stated
2. If it were rolled in the OBR I would predict a boycot by FClass shooters.

It’s a shame that we (PMRPC) could not have made this match an annual event. The payout (albeit the “large” classification is questionable) is what brought in the large turnout and made this match both memorable and more competitive.

Anyway, congratulations on coming up with the idea and on running a great match last year!

Boy, I hope this match pans out one way or the other. Even if it doesn’t, I’ll be down for a club match. I’ve met a lot of great people and shooters there over the past few years! Very well run, and always a great time!

Dave,

Thanks for the report. Very sorry to hear that club politics are getting in the way of a really great match. The payouts were important, I suppose, but even more important was the fact that it was highly competitive, with a really great bunch of shooters and the match was extremely well run.

Best of all was the hospitality - we really enjoyed ourselves - great people!

Thanks for all you did to make last year's match a match to remember in the "fondness" column. Hope the club wakes up and allows a repeat of last year.

Thanks for running a great match.

John

Glad to see the SCR 2022 is going to happen!

Program has some very interesting changes.

Disclaimer! I have absolutely nothing to do with this years match.

As Drolds72 posted, the Space Coast Regional is a go. Dave did a great job last year and I hope to make this year's event a quality match that everyone enjoys as well as seeing some more high quality shooting.
In the Individual F-Class Competition, first place will receive $500, 2nd $200 for each rifle category. Hope to see you in March

And the saga continues...Its no wonder why the endurance of Fclass is always questionable in the of Florida. Only here can you have a fantastic (Ad Hoc) match that was put together expertly by Dave, run successfully and instantly become a hit and highly anticipated fot the next year, only to have powers that be, run it down and ruin it. Its a shame that this club's political (laundry) is the only club that is ever discussed in any forum based website. Its a shame and is indicative of a poorly run operation. You don't see this sort of thing of any other clubs/ranges in these forums. Again absolute shame.
Kudos again Dave for stepping up last year and establishing the Space Coast Regional Midrange Match. It will always be rememebered as "YOUR" match and the rest are just standing on your shoulders.

You just described my home club. Uncanny shit.
I described most clubs around the country. We used to have a ton of benchrest ranges and a ton of them went from avg 100 br shooters at a match to nothing all because another discipline had political participation and axed em out

Most don’t have a clue about the inner workings of the Port Malabar Club . I am grateful to have a great place to shoot. And a match director that takes care of Fclass matches all year. I am going to show up this year with my good gun and have a great time.
The shotgun people bring in way more money to a lot of clubs than the rifle people.

Just registered for 2022 Space Coast F-Class Regional - looking forward to coming back to Port Malabar.

Looking for a team to shoot with - anyone need an F-Open High Master?

John
