2022 IBS 600 at Manatee Starts November 27th

For those planning a vacation in "Sunny South Florida" this Fall and Winter, our IBS 600 schedule is posted on the IBS website. Normally we always shoot on the 4th Saturday of each month, starting in November. Well in December that would be Christmas so our IBS is the Saturday BEFORE Christmas, the 18th.

Just alerting you as some rightfully enjoy coming over the holidays. In January through March the IBS shoots will be the 4th Saturday with February being the weekend IBS Florida State Championship.

We did a practice shoot today for our official start. Some shooters chose to just shoot one class or the other. Still fun for all.

Couple relays full and lots of close competition plus food.

Typical Manatee difficult conditions and a good experience for all involved. It was NOT IBS today but the intensity was there.

Come on down, meet the shooters, enjoy the experience and make your Florida vacation a shooting event to remember.

Just a correction our two day state championship is March 26 and 27, 2022. Hope to see you all there. Thank you

Had it pointed out to me that the schedule on the IBS site is for calendar year 2021. There is nothing yet past December 2021 posted in scheduling.

Do think that most of the 2021 IBS matches are over by November. Anything after that, at least in 600 yard competition, goes for the 2022 IBS season. The Manatee 600 matches in November and December are 2022 SOY (Shooter of the Year) points matches for 2022.

Wow that’s 62 hours of driving!
I can send my plane to come and get you just kidding.
I wonder if you can ship your rifles and fly in with rest and the other things you need for shooting it’s maybe cheaper then driving who knows by then gas might be $7.00 a liter.

If you are coming to Florida for a vacation then the distances and huge expense can include a shoot at Manatee. Check the IBS schedule. Christmas is a common visit time but it fell on the day we normally would be doing a shoot. That moved the shoot up a week, taking out the Christmas holiday from inclusion during a vacation visit.

In February many come here for the Daytona 500. Then in March, many more come here for Bike Week and Spring Break right after that. Those are also good times to include a Manatee shoot.

To make a long journey just for a one or two-day shoot is probably not price justified today. Huge fuel costs along with major hikes in food and probably lodging surely mitigate the ability of many shooters to come here, unless there are other reasons. We do all we can to just break even on our shoots so we are maybe more affordable that others.

I used to often go to Wyoming and hunt prairie dogs. After that would I ride motorcycle around for a few weeks, visiting the typical Western attractions. Today that trip just might be unrealistic due to the humungous inflationary costs. Those of us on a "fixed income" with no cost of living, know.

Thanks for thinking of a Manatee Shoot. We sure try to make it fun and rewarding.

Need clarification?
The January IBS 600yd match is Saturday, the 22nd ?
The reason I ask, it is not on the Manatee Site Calendar ?
I need to verify this to square it with My Social Director ;)
Thanks…RR
