2021 U.S. Service Academies Presidents Trophy Results

This past Saturday, the rifle teams of the four U.S. Service Academies met at the USAFA range to contest the 2021 Presidents Trophy match.
Congratulations to Air Force for winning their eighth straight title and to all the outstanding individual performances by members of each team.

Apparently Kings Point, the US Merchant Marine Academy, didn't compete for whatever reason, but just so all of you know, there are 5 Federal Academies.

Kings Point does not have a rifle program.
I will also point out that the Coast Guard Academy program has been downgraded from a Division III program to club status. There were only two, unsupported (they paid their own expenses to attend) Coast Guard cadets at this event.

Not good Pete, they need help.

Agreed. My sincerest congratulations and good wishes to the two from Coast Guard that competed; their dedication is to be greatly admired, especially when you ad what they have to go through to compete to the daily grind at any of the Federal Academies - they aren't always good places to be, but they are good places to be from.

Kings Point had a serious rifle program and a serious pistol program when I attended, more decades ago than I care to remember. Since I was raised as a rifle shooter by my grandfather, I decided to try something new and made the varsity pistol team. We practiced on the same range, alternating relays, and I new the rifle team guys well; both teams competed in the Nationals in those days, and we looked forward to it. Don't know what happened in the interim, but it sure isn't pretty to know that KP no longer has a rifle team, and if they don't have a rifle team, they certainly don't have a pistol team.
