2019 Florida State F-Class Championship??

Does anyone have any information at all about whether the FSSA will be holding the Florida State F-Class Championship this year? Last year it was held Oct 13th and 14th; in prior years it was held in early November. There is no information on either the FSSA or Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club (usual host range) websites. Thanks for any intel.

There are no High Power Directors left in the FSSA. Those three positions are open.

Chip is still running the pits at NRA Nationals, so I know any decisions will have to wait until he gets back.

This has become a very discouraging time for the discipline of F class in the State of Florida. One regional has been terminated and the other remains undetermined at this time. My opinion, poor management. I would go as far as indicating disdain from certain individuals that is undermining the F class discipline within the state as well.

No worries though, there are many other venues outside of the state for the discipline of F class, that make it well worth the travel time to participate in well-run matches.

Camp Blanding outside of Starke Florida holds f class shoots most of the year with the exception of July and August. We are scheduled to start back up September 14th. Terry Pitts runs the matches, Greg Parsons is the information man and can be contacted at Camp Blanding Museum. It's a shame if Malabar stops, that is where I started shooting f class when I lived in Palm Beach County.

Not saying there will no longer be an OBR for Fclass, it is possible, there could be a regional, perhaps not associated with the OBR. "Possibly", not confirmed. And yes, Camp Blanding is a formidable venue for Fclass matches but no one other than Port Malabar Rifle/Pistol club has provided a venue to sponsor the Florida State Fclass Championship. Perhaps the good folks at Blanding could look into this? As far as regionals, I do not have the confidence that the Snowbird regional at PMRPC will ever be recovered. I stand by my previous opening comments.

OBR is fine. 2020 schedule has been posted for months.

The VP and the Rifle Director of Malabar are both F shooters, so that program has support.

There is some serious strife going on between some F Class factions and some of the match directing/range ops personnel, and it’s inevitable that it will spill over into these public forums. That is all I will say here about this.

Malabar is still running a full complement of monthly matches for all disciplines as well as the various regionals.

Blanding has been offered for States. Bear in mind that is a very active training facility, and matches can and have been cancelled last minute due to military needs.

Pitts and Parsons have worked miracles there. They even got the only 1000 yd high power range in Florida built!

Eventually, I will even get the chance to get up there and shoot it sometime...

Cancel that...just found the schedule. The confusion is that PMRPC has two websites and I have a link to the PMRPC Rifle site which apparently has not been updated for this coming season's events.

It looks like the F Class and Conventional Mid Range State Championship Matches are scheduled to fire concurrently on November 9 and 10 this year. It’s on the calendar.

No, there is no Match Program posted yet.

I’ve penciled it in my calendar...
