ATTENTION ALL 1000 YARD BENCHREST SHOOTERS!
It's hard to believe that 51 years ago The Original PA 1000 Yard Benchrest Club Inc. was founded and once again we board of directors are trying to make the 2018 World Open an unforgettable match for all competitors, spectators, and suppliers.
As one of the club's Public Information Officers I am writing to request you consider participating in this year’s July 14/15 World Open competition. The two day, four target event can accommodate up to 144 shooters to compete in the heavy and light gun classes. That's a maximum of 288 guns! (144 in each class). We have a new firing line and overhead cover that now has 15 benches and we my be able to expand the target line to accommodate 180 shooters or a maximum of 360 guns!
At the conclusion of the competition the top shooters in various classes are awarded merchandise prizes. This event has always proven to be an overwhelming success due to the generous donations from the firearms/shooting industry. Therefore, we are asking all 1000 Yard competitive shooters to consider making the trek to Williamsport, PA to compete.
A sponsor list is maintained on the club’s website, www.pa1000yard.com, under the “World Open'" tab. Take a moment to look at the list of donors which continues to grow daily.
Additionally, if you are a business in the industry that wishes to donate and has not been contacted by me or Joe Saltalamachia, please reach out to either of us to get your company involved.
Again, we would like to invite all 1000 yard shooters to attend and compete in this year's World Open. Come out and see for yourself what our "unique" wind is all about.
So please join us in some way to support the competitors of the 2018 Original PA 1000 Yard Benchrest Club's World Open. This match is probably the best 1000 yard rifle competition held on one of the worlds' most challenging ranges.
