2017 FCWC - TEAMS

Australia continuing to prove competitive, hot on the heels of Canada in F-Open and leading FTR after day 1 in the 8 man international teams match. From what I have heard, conditions have been challenging to say the least, with some very switchy wind conditions catching many top shooters unawares on occasion.

CONGRATULATIONS to the winners - Australia (Fopen) and the USA (FTR) but also to all other teams. Everyone performed amazingly and obviously worked hard to get there. This was the closest teams event I can remember and the placegetters and all competitors should stand tall - you performed at world level too.

Canada close 2nd and then USA in open - all very close.
Australia then South Africa in FTR

I see that the coaches are omitted from the results column. Too bad. A shooter may fire 20 shots in a match while the coach will fire 80 and get no credit, win or lose. I think the coaches deserve as much mention as the shooters.

Now, that I have had time to somewhat recover and drive several hundred miles towards home, I want to congratulate team KP Ballistics on a hard fought match. At the end of day 1 we were in second place, 3 points ahead of KP-B and these guys gained 6 points on us the next day. Very well done Adam, Scott, Wade, Kenny, Mark and Paul. You guys are awesome.

And congrats to team Da Bulls, very impressive win.

And congratulations to Team USA in International F-TR for the win; well done, Ray and the rest of the team.

This is true unless you have a long haired bearded dude on your team that doesn't listen anyways lol!!So Deny how many times did you have to pop him on top of the head?

I see 8 shooters and 8 others. I'd like to know who shot on what and who the line coaches were. DCRA isn't alone in the way they report matches. The NRA did a good job reporting their team matches at Atterbury this year by listing the shooters and their scores along with team captain and coach. Just that I have a lot of friends there and like to follow their progress.

Nah, he was just fine. He did a great job shooting as required and helping me with conditions. That's a huge range with LOTS of indicators.

Hello Denys! This is a bit off topic, however, I was just wondering how being back up in Canada was? Did it feel like being "home", or has Texas completely taken over as "home"? AND congrats on you and your team doing very well indeed!

Hi Ben, and thanks for the congrats.

Ottawa is not my hometown, but it is close enough. I actually started shooting Fullbore and Target Rifle at Connaught in 1982, 35 years ago. It was fun going back, though my memory of the place was extremely fuzzy. In those days, the targets were 12 feet wide and required two people to maneuver. I remember Bull, Inner, Magpie, Outer, Hit and miss as scores.

Ottawa is a sleepy little town, nothing like Montreal (my hometown) or Toronto. It's a government town, the capital of the Deranged Dominion.

The beer is still better up there, but the population has changed over the 34 years since I left.

Congratulations to all the winners and a personal Congratulations to The V-Bulls on winning the Rutland cup in F-TR, you guys set a mark on day one that pretty well sealed the deal. (Damn I'm glad you beat us by over 5 points)

Special thank you to my team mates on KP Ballistics for inviting me to shoot with them. It was an absolute blast shooting with you.
