$200K Stolen UPS Packages at UPS Worker's House

This reminds me of my "lost" package through UPS from about 15 years ago. I had ordered a $400 fly rod and it got lost at the UPS center in Albuquerque, NM. I called Cabela's, and no biggie, they just sent another. I got the second one. I guess big corporations have loss insurance and they don't care if things never arrive.

Can’t trust the Post office. Can’t trust UPS. Can you trust FedEx? Just another reason to be on your guard!
I’m selling a rather nice and expensive firearm. The buyer and I agreed it would be best if I hand deliver it……..1200 miles away! I agreed to it only because he lives close to my migration route back east. Not going to trust a shipper for this one!

UPS was involved and called in the FBI and others.
UPS was probably getting a lot of claims and then they have their own
people that do the initial investigation to find the people involved then call
in the appropriate agency's to take it to the next level.
Depending on the items and amount.
Hard to hide theft when everything has bar codes and cameras everywhere.
Worked for them for 38 years, seen this happen a few times.
Problem is that they will let this go on for months and customers are the ones
that get hurt.

a side note on catching these people. my wife worked for Walmart in the cash office. counting each drawer every night. if it was more than a couple bucks short she would know, and watch that drawer number and report it if it was consistently short. then loss prevention takes over.
so the employee thinks will they notice $20. nothing is said, so they take a little more, and a little more. The whole time loss prevention is building there case. moving cameras to watch that register. moving that employee around in front of different cameras. takes quite awhile for loss prevention to get all they need.
Then one day BOOM!! employee comes to work and police are waiting for them. that was after they had gotten 12k in 3 months!!!! there register was short more and more each shift, they thought no one was noticing.

Study up. The absolute safest way to send a big dollar gun is USPS registered/insured, what many big dollar dealers do.
It is not expensive and best because every single human that touches it must sign for it.
Only pain is must be wrapped in brown paper with brown paper tape.
