2007 BC ?

Couple of problems here son...You just hung around for nearly 6 years before putting up your profile ?? I believe it is 2007 AD you are referring to..Hey & do me a favor..What state are you in??..One of my pet peeves is not enough of you guys even try to fill in your profiles...Old Uncle Mike in Ct

No Son been around long before that computer problems and change of profile re set my info.
Just joking around BC is correct, BEFORE CREEDMOOR!

Sometimes I miss it. Lot’s of very good straight forward detailed information was posted. It was a little “dry” at times. The pendulum has swung the other way. It will probably swing back after a while. It’s all good in my view. Most of the guys on here are fine, upstanding Gentlemen. Most of the banter is good natured.
I’m getting ready for fall shooting. I’ll be posting about it, looking for pointers. I’ll make sure they’re as technical as possible.;)

The answers thus far are unknowingly congruent with his point. Starting from scratch, I have gained knowledge about shooting from 1) high "quality" shooters at the range, 2) this forum, 3) books. 4) my results/tests. Sure there were times when the earlier posters might be a bit dull or too technical for me but you could extract some amazing insight from them. Nowadays the pearls of wisdom are fewer (thank you for the newsfeed!). Some of the great earlier posters are gone or have moved on. I think that is partly due to less useful information available and lame attempts at humor post after post. As an aside, what difference does being a paid contributor have to do with pertinence or validity?

No reason not to have a lil humor, unless your lacking a sense of one.
Not attacking you, just saying lighten up a little.
There is still great info posted daily. If you can't learn and have fun doing it, maybe your doing it wrong.
Lord knows I've learned tons of valuable info here and made some good friends, and had lots of good times doing so.

part of the reason I believe the "pearls of wisdom" have gotten fewer is in no small part due to the givers of the pearls being ridiculously confronted and provoked by a bunch of "typing warriors" who shoot guns only a little but their mouths a bunch and so the shooters who spend huge amounts of time and money learning through experience, and was kind enough to share with the rest of us, mostly stopped contributing. yes, there are plenty of great shooters left on here sharing their experiences, but fewer than there used to be:(
