200 Gr. Berger HB

If you are talking about the Berger 200gr hybrid there were about a million of them shot in F-TR between 2013 and a couple of yrs ago when they came out with the 200-20x. In a 308 set up for them you can run them in the mid to upper 2600s with no problems in small primer brass. Some folks have run them faster, like a little over 2700.

That's in something with a 170ish freebore.

Like Wade said. Shoot them over a chrony and when you hit 2630-2670 and get a good group, stop and play with seating depth there.

Most competitors use Varget, depending on the barrel and chamber somewhere around 44.0 to 44.8 should give you a good starting to proceed as jsthntn suggested.

Joe
I have some loaded with Varget at 43.5 and 44.0 will get to the Range this week
Thanks

Powder charge and velocity will depend a lot on your freebore, brass, barrel length etc. Which brass are you using, barrel length, and do you know the freebore length?

Example: One of my 32 inch barrels that had a .170 freebore was running 2665-2670 ish with 43.3 gr Varget in Lapua palma brass. That's where it shot best.

Had a good dat to day at play.
