20 Vartarg Lapua Brass

Hi guys. I have a 20 Vartarg built on an L461 varmint. Was wondering how many of you have started using the 221 Fireball brass from Lapua and how much difference you have found compared to the Remington stuff.

One difference you need to be aware of is that you will need to turn the necks a little if your chamber neck is .232 or less. The Lapua brass always seems to make the top-shelf brass, but for PD shooting there isn't much practical difference. The LC based 20VT brass is also very good when you can find someone making a batch, and you can spec your neck if you order it ahead.

I've had a 20vt for quite some time now. I always used Remington brass. All my other rifles I use Lapua and was waiting for the day they would come out with FB brass. I bought some but haven't done a comparison yet. I had no issues loading or firing it. Its such a small case my guess is I doubt it will help much with accuracy. I doubt other brass has that much internal volume difference to affect accuracy. A 308 is a different story. Ill still spend the money its peace of mind and probably last longer.

Built my 20VT in '07........never liked Rem brass...I even reformed 223 which was/is labor intensive...

Was very glad to see Lapua build the 221 brass....good stuff as usual........

Get some brass custom made from LC brass. There are several guys that offer the brass formed and sized perfectly for your chamber on the forum here. It's the best. My Dakota shoots this stuff into a hole, a small hole, and it seems to last forever. If you want the lapua stuff I have 200 pieces I'll sell you. It's brand new and I'll sell it to you for 20% off.
