20 VarTarg Bushings

Hi All,

Using new .221 Fireball - Lapua and Nosler brass. I picked up some of the REDDING and L.E. Wilson bushings, some steel and some titanium.

Now I need to figure out which size bushing to use. Anyone care to share notes?

Not exactly the same but in my 20-222 I use Lapua brass the neck thickness, before sizing, measure 13-13.5 I use a Redding .230 bushing and after sizing them down the necks are 14-14.5. With that .230 bushing it puts me right around 1.5 thou neck tension. I'd be surprised if the Lapua 221FB wasn't nearly, if not, the same. I have some Lapua 221FB brass maybe I'll measure some later and see.

Agree with B23. You will want to check your brass thickness and go from there.

Lots of ways to get to the same goal. Sometimes I went no-turn, other times I turned to get a finished neck thickness I liked.
