20 VarTarg Build

I'm building a barrel block varmint gun in 20 VarTarg. I thought it would be fun to post some progress pictures. Here is one of cutting the slot in the barrel block. More to come if anyone is interested.

Ahhh, no guts no glory. You need abt 1000 SFM and go in full choke, 20 ipm...Yah, that's it, and forget about the coolant.. ;-)). Ain't it great to have good advice?

I've been pondering a bbl block myself for one of my rigs. Keep the pix coming.

When I sanded out the mold seams and other uneven spots in the stock, I had to sand through the glass gel coat. This left many spots with no molded in color. McMillan supplied the gel coat material and pigments for the repair for free.
This is a picture of my marble pattern gel coat of the bottom of the stock. It took a few tries to get it right. I'll send picks of the top later this week.
I have time to mess with the stock while I'm waiting for the metal to come back from Black Ice Coatings where I'm having it all done in black.

Finishing up the last few areas that need to be gel coated. I should be able to sand it out tomorrow and take a few more pictures. I've been traveling a lot lately so I'm only putting a few hours a week into it.

Rem XR-100 Action with a Pac-Nor barrel.

The XR-100 receiver has two holes in the receiver bridge to mount the rear scope base - this has one. Is it possible that it is an XP-100, which has one hole in the bridge?

He is talking about the completed rifle in the last picture not the build that this discussion started with.
