.20 Tactical First Kill

Well I have dat a .20 Tactical for a few years. I have shot it a bunch the last 3 years. I have only killed paper. I have worked up several loads with different bullets. I decided to take it ground hog hunting. I let my son (13) shoot the first ground hog with it. 125 yard shot. I let a buddy make kill#2 with it. 185 yard shot. Fast forward a few weeks and now it’s my turn. 345 yard kill. I’m pretty tickled with that kill at that distance.

Well here goes, I'm going to steal your post. Still about a Tactical 20, but I have pictures ;)
1st picture is an average group for my rifle with 32 gr. bullets, around 4200 fps.
2nd is a mercy killing of a coyote. I was calling, and it came in from behind my hide. Busted me trying to get him in my sights. Fatally stopped around 200 yds out. Rifle is a Cooper M21 by Canyon Creek

Nice looking rifle. Great group. What powder are you using?

Hal
Hal, That's the groups this rifle shoots. I've shot a lot of 10X and Tac. I like the Tac the best because once you set up the powder measure you just drop the powder and seat the bullets. The bullets are 32 gr. Zmax. Same as the Vmax, but with the yellow tip (Zombie). 26 gr. Tac for ~4200 fps.
I shoot ground squirrels with this rifle. When you hit a squirrel it doesn't make a whump sound, it makes a crack like a whip.

I enjoy shooting coyotes about as much as anything I can think of and from what I've been told by biologists a healthy yote can recover from it but it does make me sad to see them with mange like that.

I'm not really a wood guy myself but I can certainly appreciate a pretty piece of wood when I see it and that definitely is one. It sure looks like it shoots every bit as good as it looks too. Very nice!
