Savage Target Action Rifle with many upgrades. Action is Large Shank, RBLP, timed and trued by Savage Specialists at Sharp Shooter Supply. Precision barrel nut and lug from Northland Shooter Supply. 28" Criterion Barrel with Criterion radial brake to facilitate seeing the hits. Barrel has 1054 rounds through it. Action/Stock pillared and bedded. Trigger is a modified Rifle Basix SAV-2 which can be adjusted to less than 2 ounces. TPS one piece steel picatinny rail. Boyds Laminated Varmint thumbhole stock with lead and tungsten weights added for a total weight approx 15lbs. Will ship to your FFL.

What is the free bore? What kind of accuracy were you able to average with your favorite load including powder, bullet, and primer? Thanks,

I have had 5 shot groups as little as .168 CTC at 3880fps with 40 grain Vmax. Worst groups are close to an inch but overall the groups average under a half inch. I have had best results with 4198 and Benchmark. I can not remember what the free bore spec is.

How far into the neck is the 40 gr V-Max seated?

I don't have any loaded rounds left but I can seat a bullet into an empty case if you still want an answer.

I loaded up a dummy round. The OAL is 2.216" with a 40 VMax. The base to ogive with my tool is 1.850.
