Attempting to be efficient and utilize what I have on hand. I mostly use my Hornady L-n-L progressive press and has given me groups that satisfy my needs (at this time). I have a RCBS single stage, but don't use unless trying to solve an issue or for easy chores. Getting ready to start a 20 Practical build using the Savage action and will need to purchase a FL bushing die. I have two Hornady .223 Custom Grade die sets & trying to figure out what and how to best set this up.
This is how I imagine the set up.
Station #
1. Hornady full length size die with the decapping assembly removed
2. Bushing die with 0.233" bushing
3. Bushing die with a 0.225"- 0.228" bushing depending on brass or fit
4. Trim and deburr/chores after station 3
1) What is your preference on manf. of bushing dies & why. Redding, Wilson, Foster...who did I leave out
2) Any reason I can't order the decapping rod in .204 for one of my Hornady dies after initial sizing for resizing?
Looking for opinions and ideas around my process.
Thanks DWD
