any one shooting this for groundhogs.what are your loads and the preforance you get for them .just asking.

Not yet but have been considering it for my XP100. Just noticed Starline sells 22 ARC now, might neck that down to 20 and use the extra horsepower on chucks nicely.

I have 2, 20 PPC's, one shooting 32 gr v-max, the other 39 gr sbk.
Both deadly accurate on p-dogs and rock chucks. Only draw back
is me behind the trigger.

I have a couple 20 PPC but rarely shoot them as I have found that my 20-223AI does essentially the same for less hassle and expense. Also, the 223 based cartridge boxes take up a lot less space when I pack up my stuff for a PD shoot.

I've got one built on a Nesika single shot action for shooting prairie dogs. I'm also using the 39 grain Sierra BK's at 3700ish fps. Basically .204 Ruger performance at twice the costs !! LOL. I like the gun, like the cartridge, but I probably wouldn't do another one.

Weres twice the costs at other than brass 204 vrs 20PPC.
Theres alot better brass available for the PPC than 204.
A Redding FL bushing die for a ppc is about 15-20 dollars more, other than that everything is virtually the same.

just for my info given a good rifle as far as accuracy goes would you concider the 204 a 400 yard cartrige for groundhogs as far as killing power goes.i have read that the 17 remington can do it and the 17 mach 4 can .
